Reuters is looking for an enterprising reporter to cover shareholder activism and corporate governance as part of the M&A and corporate finance team in New York.
The successful candidate will be breaking news on high-profile activist campaigns targeting companies, as well as the inner workings of corporate boards. The job requires a reporter with a deep understanding of how companies are governed and the ability to cultivate a wide range of sources, including shareholders, corporate executives, board directors, hedge funds, activism defense bankers, lawyers, proxy solicitors and executive recruiting firms.
It also requires excellent writing skills to vividly convey the drama of the battles between companies and activists and explain the impact of corporate governance and securities laws to a wider audience.
