The ideal candidate has excellent reporting skills, with proven ability to use public records and develop sources to break news. The reporter also needs a digital mindset that includes being comfortable with multimedia storytelling and embracing innovation to engage a digital audience.
The reporter also must know how to use databases for reporting and write compelling stories that are accurate, complete and deeply reported. The reporter must be active on social media and have at least three years of experience at a daily news organization with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
