Marketwatch seeks deputy personal finance editor

MarketWatch seeks an editor to help run its personal finance team. Based in New York, the ideal candidate will work to filter the news of the day through a single question: “What does this mean for me and my money?”

It’s what readers of every news story wonder on some level, and in a financial climate with boundless opportunity for bad decision making, answering it has never been more important.

The deputy personal finance editor will be responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day flow of online coverage, working closely with our team of reporters, writers and editors to create sophisticated yet accessible investing and personal-finance stories — ranging from daily articles pegged to news, strong analysis of news events, broader and more in-depth features and ‘news you can use’ projects.

Position Requirements: The editor will need at least five years news journalism experience, experience in online publishing, strong editing and writing skills, an interest in personal finance journalism, and a keen understanding of how to engage audiences on multiple platforms and via social networks. This position is based in new York.
