Jacksonville’s real estate market is bustling. Downtown development is starting to take off, homebuilding activity is soaring and there’s some major projects underway generating plenty of interesting stories. You’ll chronicle all of that, connecting with the area’s key players, digging into documents and — above all — breaking news.
We’re looking for someone who can source well and quickly, who can turn numbers into narratives, who can break a story and then turn around and explain what it means. An interest in both commercial and residential real estate is a must.
You should have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent as well as two to three years experience in daily journalism. It’d be a huge plus if you have experience covering real estate, are familiar with public records and enjoy data journalism.
The Jacksonville Business Journal is a daily online publication with a weekly print edition that gives you the opportunity for deeper dives. As part of the American City Business Journals, we and our 39 sister papers make up the No. 1 source of local business news in the country. Salary is competitive, and our benefits are top notch.
If this is the job you’re dreaming of, email JBJ Editor Timothy Gibbons at tgibbons@bizjournals.com. Include your resume, five to seven clips and whatever else you think will demonstrate you have what it takes to help us produce the best local business report in Florida. We’re looking to move fast on this, so don’t dawdle.
