CNBC seeks a reporter

This is a full-time, staff position at CNBC headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter to work across digital and television teams.

This Reporter writes stories for CNBC.com based on Jim Cramer’s stock market commentary and CEO interviews on “Mad Money,” with the opportunity to write broader investing and markets stories as well. This reporter serves as an important bridge between “Mad Money,” which just celebrated its 20-year anniversary, and the CNBC Investing Club, our flagship subscription platform.

Key Skills

  • Be curious about all things business, markets, and investing. On any given day, this reporter will write stories about Jim’s market calls, technical analysis from respected technicians, and insights from CEOs in a wide range of industries
  • A willingness to learn every day and take constructive criticism and guidance from editors
  • An ability to identify engaging, actionable insights from Jim’s daily commentary, market observations, and CEO interviews
  • A track record of writing strong headlines that will capture readers’ attention in this age of information overload
  • A strong grasp of compelling story construction and execution
  • A laser focus on checking facts and making sure stories are free from grammatical and style errors
  • A drive to create innovative content and engagement strategies for Mad Money’s social media platforms

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $75,000-$115,000

Qualifications Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience working in a fast-paced digital or television newsroom
  • Bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of how Wall Street works
  • Strong knowledge of the internet and newsroom content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work independently and with a team
