Bloomberg News seeks a reporter based in London, to cover the renewable energy industry in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Responsibilities include writing about financing for wind, solar, biofuels and other energy, and policy developments, across the region. The person would both file short daily stories for the Bloomberg New Energy Finance newsletter and develop more lengthy pieces for the Bloomberg Professional service and occasionally Businessweek.
The ideal candidate will bring ideas and contacts in government, industry and banking to generate exclusive news about the industry and help shape coverage of energy in the region, working on tight deadline pressure.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience
-Minimum two years in journalism
-Understanding of financial markets or renewables
-Ability to become deeply sourced with government, companies and financiers.
-Ability to write quickly and concisely under pressure
-Fluency in English is essential, and another European language would be highly desirable
