Bloomberg seeks pharma/biotech commentary writer

Bloomberg is looking for a columnist with deep expertise on core business developments and forces shaping health care, as well as the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

This person should be a knowledgeable, graceful writer who is comfortable analyzing pivotal news events in this area quickly and with abundant perspective and opinion — as long as that opinion is grounded in data and the fact pattern. This person enjoys writing daily and right off of the news.

This person is collaborative, wants to experiment with voice and style, and, above all, wants to make the column a must-read for anyone who wants context and a takeaway around the news.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
-Minimum 3 years journalism experience
-Prior experience reporting on healthcare industry a plus

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
