Rhonda Pringle, publisher of the Baltimore Business Journal from 2017 to 2023, died Oct. 24 at the age of 57.
Melody Simmons of the Business Journal writes, “Pringle died after an over yearlong battle with cancer in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. As the BBJ’s publisher and market president from 2017 to 2023, Pringle oversaw the publication’s editorial, advertising and event staff. Under her stewardship, the BBJ team won two company “Eagle Awards” for top market performance in 2018 and 2021.
“‘Rhonda was a talented leader, but what we will remember most was the warmth and genuine care she brought to the people around her,” said Mike Olivieri, executive vice president and president of local markets for American City Business Journals, the BBJ’s parent company. ‘She cared deeply about helping people succeed and the business communities she spent time in including Baltimore, Phoenix, and Jacksonville. We were fortunate to have her as part of ACBJ, and even more fortunate to know her.’
“Pringle’s career path took her from Jacksonville to Fort Worth, Texas, Phoenix and Baltimore. After leaving the BBJ in 2023, she became ACBJ’s director of diversity business initiatives, where she set out to better link ACBJ’s coverage and marketing directives to more minority businesses across the U.S. She also served as interim president and publisher of the Jacksonville Business Journal before leaving the company in February 2025.”
