BloombergBloomberg LP stood by Bloomberg Media CEO Justin Smith and its “Bloomberg Politics” television show in the wake of news reports that Smith would be leaving the company soon and that the show would not be renewed after the election.

A Bloomberg LP representative stated: “Justin Smith is very happy at Bloomberg and his strong results speak for themselves. He is making no plans to leave. Any suggestion to the contrary is false. He and Mike have a great working relationship.”
In addition, the company released a statement from Mike Bloomberg that stated:  “I’ve become a devotee of Bloomberg Politics. It’s an important part of our TV line-up and our strategy, giving our customers the news and people they need going into election season. I fully support it.”
Bloomberg Politics is now one of the top 10 political sites with nearly 5 million unique visitors in August.
In addition, Bloomberg TV has launched several new programs, including “With all Due Respect,” and the market-close show “What’d You Miss?”, which is about to expand to an hour. On Monday, it will launch a three-hour global show, “Bloomberg <Go>.”
