The Wall Street Journal has hired Lizzy Lawrence to cover the pharmaceutical industry.
She will start in August.
Lawrence currently leads STAT’s coverage of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Her stories explore the relationship between politics and science at the FDA, industry influence, and the agency’s ability to protect and promote public health. She’s won a George Polk Award for her FDA coverage, as well as a Polk and other awards for a team investigation into UnitedHealth.
Previously, Lawrence worked at the tech news site Protocol and the Baltimore Sun.
In 2020, she served as editor-in-chief of The Michigan Daily, her school’s independent newspaper.
