BuzzFeedBuzzFeed has hired Cora Lewis to be its labor reporter.

She starts Tuesday and will be based in New York.

Lewis graduated from Yale in 2013, and has interned at the New York Observer and the Wall Street Journal and worked as a staff reporter for the New Haven Independent. In 2011, as a recipient of the Oldest College Daily fellowship, she traveled to Gaborone, Botswana to co-found an online journalism program at the Maru-a-Pula high school.

“The changing face of the labor market is one of the biggest and most consequential stories in America today, and what happens to American workers in the coming years will be a central story for the economy, politics and culture,” said BuzzFeed business editor Tom Gara. “Beats don’t get more important than this, and Cora is exactly the kind of reporter we want to set loose to cover it: she’s young, incredibly hungry to get the story, and whip smart. I can’t wait to see what she does.”

Earlier this month, the BuzzFeed business desk hired Venessa Wong to cover the food industry.
