The Texas Tribune has hired Allyson Waller as a general assignment reporter.
She comes from the New York Times where she was an express/breaking news fellow.
Waller has interned at The Daily Dot, Miami Herald where she covered city and local government, The Bryan-College Station Eagle and Houstonia Magazine.
She was also a journalism writing coach at Moody Writing Support Program at UT’s Moody College of Communication.
She was a staff writer and editor and later on managing editor at Orange Magazine. She was also an investigative fellow at Texas Tribune.
Waller holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from University of Texas at Austin where she worked and was a reporter for the student newspaper.
