Carley Fortune, executive editor of Refinery29 Canada, has left to pursue her career in fiction writing.
In her role as executive editor, she led the Canadian launch of Refinery29 in October 2018 and oversaw all editorial planning, strategy, and execution for the brand, including digital content, social media, newsletters, audience growth among other tasks.
She has also served as managing editor – digital, deputy editor and then as editor-in-chief of Chatelaine, based in Toronto. She was an assistant editor – life and arts and deputy style editor at The Globe and Mail.
She was also an associate editor at The Grid, a national-award-winning Toronto weekly magazine. She has also edited for Toronto Life Magazine.
Fortune graduated from Ryerson University.
