Carolyn Kylstra, editor-in-chief of Condé Nast’s health and fitness title Self, is stepping down and will be joining Google as head of special projects and digital platforms on the central editorial team within global communications and public affairs.
She joined Self in 2015 as an executive digital director. Before that, she was a health editor at BuzzFeed, where she launched and edited BuzzFeed Health, a vertical within BuzzFeed Life. She was also site director at Women’s Health and a senior editor at Cosmopolitan.
She was with Men’s Health for more than 2 years, joining as an editorial intern. She then became a reporter and then served as an assistant editor before becoming an associate editor.
Kylstra holds a bachelor’s degree in history and creative writing from Dartmouth College.
