Martha Bayne will be leaving her post as managing editor of South Side Weekly to join Illinois Press as an acquisitions editor for trade books.
Bayne has also freelanced for Belt Magazine, the Baffler, Buzzfeed, Eater, the Rumpus, the Chicago Reader, the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, the Chicago Reporter, PRI/The World, and San Juan’s Centro de Periodismo Investigativo.
She was also an associate editor at Plate Magazine.
Bayne is an Oberlin College graduate.
