CNN’s Dewan becomes international editor for climate

CNN has tapped Angela Dewan as international editor for climate change starting mid-July.

Previously, Dewan was a senior producer, digital news writing geopolitical analysis and covering breaking news and distinctive features.

Dewan has been with the network for over 5 years, initially joining as a freelance news desk editor for CNN’s global team.

She worked in the EMEA region and has worked on rotation with the programming team, editing CNN’s homepage, mobile site and app.

She has served as producer, digital news at the network.

Dewan has also freelanced for Amnesty International writing press releases, feature stories and op-eds.

She has worked at AFP as a correspondent, acting news editor, deputy news editor and online news editor.

She was a science writer at Center for International Forestry Research and was a correspondent at Voice of America. She was also a copy editor at Jakarta Globe.

Dewan holds a postgraduate diploma in journalism from University of Technology.
