Yahoo Finance hires Udland from Business Insider

Myles Udland

Yahoo Finance has hired Myles Udland to be a writer, covering markets, economics, and personal finance.

He comes from Business Insider where he covered global financial markets and economics. He also was Business Insider’s markets editor.

Previously, he was a writer covering breaking news for The Fly on the Wall.

Udland is the latest in a recent string of new hires at Yahoo Finance including senior correspondent JP Mangalindan, writer Ethan Wolff-Mann, managing editor Sam Ro, deputy managing editor Erin Fuchs, editor Michael Kelley, and writer Julia LaRoche.  Ro and LaRoche also came from Business Insider.

His first day at Yahoo Finance will be Oct. 17, and he will be based in New York.

Udland is a University of Connecticut graduate.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
