A 24-year-old woman has pled guilty to breaking into the home of Hartford Courant business editor Dan Haar, while two juveniles with her are being handled by juvenile court.
Christine Dempsey of the Courant writes, “Romero had a pocket knife on her at the time, Judge David Gold said.
“When Courant business editor Dan Haar arrived at his house on Foxcroft Road at about 10 p.m. that night, he heard people inside.
“The burglars ran out the side of his house, smashing out a window screen in the process, and ran south on Foxcroft, Haar said at the time. They left a bicycle behind.
“They were arrested as they returned for the bike.
“Romero’s sentencing is scheduled for June 14. The state’s recommended sentence is 12 years in prison, suspended after six years, followed by three years of probation. The judge may consider a shorter sentence.”
