Kathy Robideau, the publisher of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, writes about why the American City Business Journals publication is starting a column on diversity and inclusion issues from a local expert.

Robideau writes, “People often tell me how much they rely on us as the key resource for local business news, but if we are not including ALL voices, are we serving the entire community? That is the question I asked myself back in June and will continue to ask myself until we reflect the community in which we live.

“As publisher, one of my key responsibilities is to connect local business leaders with one another in hopes that together we can create a greater, all-inclusive Minnesota; this partnership is a step in that direction.

“While there is a long way to go, and more difficult conversations to take place, I promise you that as a business leader in this community, I am willing to do the work and lead those discussions. You can hold me to it.”
