What I don't like about blogs

The Sanity Check blog about naked short selling is typically good for a laugh or two or to get some perspective about what some people — but not all — really think about business journalists.

However, former BusinessWeek reporter Gary Weiss reports that the blog has gone a bit too far this week in allowing someone to post a comment where it appears that they are wishing that a Dow Jones reporter was dead. Read the comments here.

Weiss wrote, “Again, not a word in contradiction, and the two posts remain on the ‘sanitycheck’ site (though something tells me they are about to disappear…..).

“As anyone familiar with such things can attest, any time a real or perceived enemy is wished ‘dead,’ it is something to take seriously. Hopefully the appropriate law enforcement agencies will do so.”
