CNBC promoted Jonathan Wald to senior vice president of business news, succeeding David Friend, who left the business news channel after more than three years in that position.
Wald, a former executive producer of “Today” and of “NBC Nightly News,” has been executive producer of “On the Money,” CNBC’s rising 7 p.m. weekday show that focuses on the intersection of business and pop culture.
He will be responsible for the 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. programming block, which includes business-day programming plus “Kudlow & Company,” “Mad Money With Jim Cramer” and “On the Money.”
Wald will report to CNBC President Mark Hoffman, who announced the change Thursday.
