Noah Weiland, senior news assistant in Washington for The New York Times, has been promoted to the post of health policy reporter. He will start his new role later this month.
Weiland has helped reporters spell George Papadopoulos and revised the morning news lineup 17 times in the minutes before the 9:30 meeting. He has also found time to write and report on topics ranging from Julia Child’s old Georgetown home on Olive Street to Jose Andres’s feud with Ivanka Trump to the plight of the survivors of the 2017 congressional baseball shooting.
Recently, he has written The Times’s hugely successful daily impeachment newsletter.
Before joining the Times, Weiland worked at Politico’s print magazine.
