Weather Channel and HBO win business Emmys

The Weather Channel/Telemundo and HBO were the winners of the business and news Emmys in the business categories.

The winners of the News & Documentary Emmy Awards were presented on Tuesday at a ceremony at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

The winners:

Outstanding Business, Consumer and Economic Report

The Weather Channel Digital, Telemundo Network and Efran Films – “Hidden Cost: Our Laws Have Not Kept Up With the Climate.”

Outstanding Business and Economic Documentary

HBO – Vice Special Report – “Panic: The Untold Story of the 2008 Financial Crisis.”

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
