Liz Drachman, the managing editor of the Washington Business Journal, has resigned to take a communications job with government contractor DAI, reports Betsy Rothstein of Fishbowl DC.
Rothstein has the memo from editor Doug Fruehling, which reads, “It is with deep regret that I announce that Liz Drachman has resigned as managing editor. She will be embarking on a new chapter as communications manager for DAI, a government contractor specializing in international development. This will allow her to travel and explore her passion of helping developing nations as turmoil sweeps many parts of the world.
“Liz came to WBJ in December 2006 after five years overseas. Before that, she worked at both our Atlanta and San Francisco papers. At WBJ, she has brought stability, discipline and keen knack for editing and recruitment. She’s been a wonderful addition to our staff for the last 4 1/2 years, and it’s not a stretch to say it will be difficult to put out the paper without her.
“Please join me in congratulating Liz.”
