OLD Media Moves

Wall Street Journal editor to head Indian start-up

April 17, 2006

When the Wall Street Journal reported last week that deputy managing editor Raju Narisetti was leaving the paper for a start-up publication, Talking Biz News was unable to report where he was going.

Now, the information is available. Narisetti is becoming head of editorial for a new business newspaper starting in India by the Hindustan Times.

His new boss, Rajiv Verma, said, “In order to create a world-class, respected and successful business newspaper we need the best global talent available and Raju is a perfect fit. With the changing economic landscape in India, there is an obvious place for a high-quality business daily. Raju has the right experience, exposure and respect to launch an unrivalled Indian business newspaper that will gain international recognition over time.”
