Former PC Word editor Harry McCracken will begin writing a tech column for Time magazine later this year, reports Jason Fell of Folio.
Fell writes, “Now, McCracken is gearing up to expand the Technologizer brand further by writing a weekly column for Time.com and contributing to the magazine’s Techland site. His first post, with Technologizer credits and links, is expected sometime this September.
“‘Technologizer’s single biggest challenge is that most of the people in the world who might like it simply don’t know it exists, so I’m excited about the potential to introduce it to the millions of smart people who read Time.com,’ McCracken says. ‘My Time pieces will link back to Technologizer, which is a big deal from both a branding and traffic standpoint.’
“McCracken says his yet unnamed column on Time.com will feature original content, not syndicated pieces from Technologizer. He says he will be compensated for his contributions to Time although there is no revenue sharing deal in place.”
