The Tallahassee Democrat has moved its Business and Growth section to the front section of the paper and cut most of its daily stock and mutual fund listings, according to a short story in Tuesday’s paper.
The item stated, “‘The A section is among the best-read sections of the Democrat, and business stories will get higher readership there,’ Tallahassee Democrat Executive Editor Bob Gabordi said.
“Gabordi said the change would allow greater emphasis on reporting local business news.
“The most obvious change to some readers will be the elimination of most of the daily stock-market and mutual-funds reports.
“‘This portion of our business coverage was difficult to read and understand for most readers and is much more accessible online,’ Business Editor Steve Liner said. ‘But we’ll still carry daily reports of readers’ selected stocks of local interest.'”
