The Society of Professional Journalists announced its annual Sigma Delta Chi awards on Monday, and five business news stories — including three from the Puget Sound Business Journal — were winners.
Kirsten Grind, Alwyn Scott and George Erb of Puget Sound Business Journal won in the Investigative reporting category for non-daily publication for “WaMu’s Final Days.”
Grind, Jeanne Lang Jones, Scott and George Erb also won in the public service journalism category for non-daily publications for “WaMu and the Foreclosure Crisis.”
Marcus Donner, Jenny O’Brien and Erb of the Puget Sound Business Journal won in the feature photography category for non-daily publications for “Energizing the Fans.”
In non-deadline reporting for independent publications, Ben Protess and Lagan Sebert from the Huffington Post Investigative Fund won for “Credit Rating Series.”
And in the online category, the staff of CNNMoney.com won for specialized journalism site.
