After a one-year hiatus, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers has revived its fall conference with a series of workshops and speakers Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 in New York City.
The fall event at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism will be highlighted by the joint appearance of two of the most outspoken journalists on Wall Street, Bloomberg News’ Jonathan Weil and the Fox Business Network’s Charlie Gasparino, with a look back at the financial crisis and ahead to the future on Wall Street and the financial system.
Plus, Starwood CEO Frits Van Paasschen and JetBlue COO Rob Maruster will gaze into the skies with their predictions for the future of tourism in the wake of uprisings in Thailand, Europe’s financial mess, terror threats in Times Square, and of course, clouds of volcanic ash in the airspace above the Northern Hemisphere.
Attendees will also be able to dig in to some vital skills sessions on improving their analysis of government data and fine-tuning their Internet search techniques. They will also be able to enhance their careers through one-on-one sessions with veteran business journalists whose advice can give resumes new professional muscle.
SABEW will post additional information about the conference on its site on Monday, May 17.
