Thomson Reuters announced Wednesday the appointment of Steven Schwartz as global head of business development for Reuters Media.
Schwartz will be based in New York and will focus on identifying and managing business partnerships, joint ventures and acquisitions.

Schwartz’s job is to develop strategic relationships that will expand Reuters Media’s offerings to ensure the company continues to provide media clients and digital consumers with the most comprehensive and agenda setting news coverage.
Reutrs expects this strategy will enhance its ability to provide newsrooms globally with highly tailored news solutions enabling them to increase their efficiency, reduce costs and drive revenue.
His arrival marks a return to the company. He was general manager of consumer media and vice president of global business operations prior to Reuters’ 2007 merger with the Thomson Corp.
Previously, he served as Wenner Media’s chief digital officer, managing the digital assets for Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, and Men’s Journal.
