Jasmine Garsd Garcia, a senior reporter for “Marketplace,” is departing the public radio show.
“I’ll share my next move soon, but for now, I want to tell you what a kind & talented team this is,” she wrote on Twitter.
She has been at American Public Media since July 2018 based in New York.
Before that, Garsd Garcia was with the BBC News, reporting for “The World,” a co-production of the BBC and Public Radio International. She covered gender and women’s issues in America and abroad, from sweatshop workers in Bangladesh to female incarceration in the U.S.
She previously worked at NPR from 2007 to 2016 in Washington, New York, Mexico and Texas. She was a staff reporter covering arts, immigration and education for NPR’s major news shows: “Morning Edition,” “All Things Considered” and “Tell Me More.” She was also a regular reporter for the NPR podcast “Planet Money.”
