Real estate now being covered by real media

That’s the conclusion of Carol Lloyd, writing for the San Francisco Examiner, who writes, “Most media outlets that have attempted to cover the subject confine themselves to one area or another: Trade rags crunch the numbers, while decorator publications indulge in pure fantasy. ”

But that’s changing, she claims. “Sure, newspaper reporters cover it as a beat, but it doesn’t compare to the myriad stories of stock marketeering and corporate king making that are the meat and potatoes of every newspaper business section and money magazine.

“And for a national obsession so intense that it’s become a cliche to refer to photography of nice houses as ‘real estate porn,’ it’s even more remarkable that no popular media outlet has been created to exploit this wanton interest in all things real estate.”
