Stephanie Ruhle has been promoted to senior business correspondent for NBC News and will appear across flagship shows such as “Today” and “NBC Nightly News,” reports Emily Smith of the New York Post.
Smith reports, “The 44-year-old former Wall Streeter and Bloomberg TV managing editor — who currently anchors ‘MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle’ at 9 a.m. on weekdays — signed the contract for her new role late last year and has already been making more frequent appearances on ‘Today.’
“An industry insider said, “This is a big deal for Stephanie, she will have a lot more visibility on NBC News, particularly ‘Today’ and ‘Nightly News.’ But now with all broadcasting jobs, it is important to have a presence across all platforms, and she will still anchor on MSNBC and work across digital.’
“The move comes amid an anchor reshuffle at MSNBC, which included the NBCUniversal-owned cable news outlet moving Ali Velshi — NBC’s business correspondent — to a new morning weekend show at 8 a.m., putting an end to his show with Ruhle, ‘Velshi & Ruhle’ at 1 p.m.”
