Bloomberg News is looking for an ambitious editor to help drive coverage of the $1.7 trillion private-credit industry as its years-long boom reaches an inflection point.
You will helm major breaking news across credit and finance, working with global colleagues on some of our most high-profile private markets stories. Some themes include the battle between Wall Street banks and direct lenders to win business, private equity’s ongoing struggle to cash out of their bets, and a growing amount of distressed debt as elevated interest rates weigh down troubled companies.
From the US West Coast, you will be the Americas credit team’s key point person for shepherding late breaking news. When not on deadline, you’ll be cultivating story ideas with reporters and driving impactful enterprise that reveals the most important trends in the private markets.
This role can be based in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle.

– Demonstrate level-headedness and decisive leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic news environment
YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
– Outstanding news judgement and strong editing skills
– A record of mentoring, coaching and advocating for reporters and their work
– A demonstrated ability to break down silos and communicate across teams, groups, platforms and regions
– A strong work ethic and exceptional organizational skills
– Experience reporting, writing or editing finance and credit stories is a plus
Salary Range = 90000 – 125000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
