The Economist ran into an issue when deciding what to name its first blog for its web site, reports the New York Times’ Stuart Elliott.
Elliott wrote, “A funny thing happened to The Economist magazine on the way to coining a name for the first blog on its Web site (economist.com).
“‘We called our blog ‘Economics Exchange,’’ said Matthew Bishop, the United States business editor for the magazine, ‘until we realized it could be read ‘Economic Sex Change.’’
“So the blog was renamed ‘Free Exchange,’ Mr. Bishop said. The blog is being written by Economist journalists and contributors.
“Mr. Bishop offered his humorous look at nomenclature at the Media Convergence Forum in New York.”
