Missouri biz publication names new editor, new director of content

The Columbia Business Times in Missouri has named Breck Dumas as its new editor and Beth Bramstedt as the company’s new director of content.

A story on its website states, “Dumas is a Columbia native with an extensive background in political and business messaging with local, state, and national experience. Past positions include public relations coordinator for the Show-Me Institute; legislative aide for U.S. senators Kit Bond and Rand Paul in Washington, D.C.; and Iowa state communications director for Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential campaign. She spent the 2016 election year alongside Branden Rathert as co-host of “Wake Up Columbia” on 93.9 The Eagle.

“Prior to joining The Business Times Company, Dumas spent six years as a residential loan officer in Columbia. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from MU and her MBA from William Woods University.

“Bramstedt moved to Columbia in 1987 to attend the Missouri School of Journalism, and she joined The Business Times Company as editor of COMO Living in January 2017. Before joining the company, she was a staff member at Columbia’s Woodcrest Chapel for 25 years, helping to grow the church from 150 members to more than 2,400. Her roles there included ministry coordinator, business administrator, and associate pastor of communications and connections. In her new role, Bramstedt will oversee production for the company’s three magazine brands: CBTCOMO Living, and Jefferson City Magazine.”
