Dow Jones hires head of events, brand director

Almar Latour, CEO of Dow Jones and publisher of The Wall Street Journal, sent out the following on Friday:

I am pleased to announce two key new leaders at Dow Jones: Delwyn Gray is appointed head of Dow Jones events while Andrew Essex is appointed brand director in residence.

Both roles are critical to our success: As Dow Jones has grown into a news, data and information services powerhouse, our events and branding are an important reflection of our mission and momentum.

In her new role, Delwyn is responsible for the production of our flagship experiences, including Journal House, Tech Live, and The Future of Everything. She joins us from Fortune Media, where she led and grew its global events program for over 20 years, including the production of Fortune Global Forums. The Dow Jones global events team will report into her.

In the newly created role of brand director in residence, Andrew is responsible for setting the direction for our Dow Jones and Wall Street Journal brands on a project-by-project basis. He will work across brands and business units, leading initiatives ranging from consumer campaigns to B2B brand marketing. Andrew is a global brand leader, having previously served as CEO of Tribeca Enterprises and founding CEO of advertising agency Droga5, known for its transformative campaigns for Microsoft, Under Armour, Google, Unicef, The New York Times and many others.

Please join me in welcoming Delwyn and Andrew and wishing them the best of luck in their new roles.
