Dolan Media, the parent company of the Long Island Business News, has acquired the Mississippi Business Journal, which is based in Jackson, Miss., according to a story on the Long Island paper’s web site.
“D. Mark Singletary, group publisher of Dolan Media’s business publications, and Ron Jones, general manager of the Mississippi Business Journal, declined to reveal the terms of the sale. Both said no staff changes were on the horizon for the 28-year-old journal.
“Negotiations began last year and were finalized March 30, according to Jones, who maintains his position as general manager at the paper. He said Venture Publications entertained other offers, but didn’t feel they were a ‘good fit.'”
