The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has changed the beat for two of its reporters, reports Sean Beherec of Arkansas Business.
Beherec writes, “Rachel Chaney, the newspaper’s business editor, said Cyd King, who has covered Wal-Mart and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art out of the northwest Arkansas office, will move to Little Rock to cover the city’s downtown development. Chaney said King had been wanting to move to Little Rock and was excited to start the new beat this week.
“You might remember the main Little Rock office is a reporter short after the mid-October departure of Jack Weatherly, who was the business editor until he was moved to senior business writer in 2012. Weatherly had worked at the paper for more than 12 years and left to join the Mississippi Business Journal in his home state (apparently giving three days’ notice).
“Chaney said that she will be moving Chris Bahn, who covers the trucking industry out of the northwest Arkansas office, to the Wal-Mart beat. She said Bahn had already started the transition in recent weeks.
“Chaney said she was still looking for Bahn’s replacement to cover the trucking industry.”
