The Houston Business Journal, an American City Business Journals paper that went through a redesign last week, published Friday an issue that contained 192 pages of editorial and advertising content.
The normal-sized issue in recent months has been 72 pages, said editor Candace Beeke.
She explained the large issue this way:
The first part is the 72 page national Who’s Who in Energy publication. We partnered with sister papers in 7 other cities to produce, so we leveraged our resources at ACBJ to provide something new and useful to our market.
Then we had a special report on the Woodlands, which sold tremendous advertising — we just happened to be featuring a part of Houston that is growing tremendously (one of the fastest-growing residential areas in the U.S.).
And our regular edition saw substantial advertising, as well — a testament to Houston’s economic times.
