The Hollywood Reporter has hired Peter Kiefer as real estate and city editor based in Los Angeles and Jeremy Barr as media and politics writer based in New York.
A story on its website states, “Kiefer has been a contributor to THR, covering the Los Angeles real estate scene and giving readers inside access to luxury estates on the market. Recent stories include an exclusive look at the new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and an analysis of the Mandeville Canyon neighborhood on L.A.’s westside. Previously, Kiefer worked as a writer for The New York Times Rome bureau, reported for The New York Sun, and founded the Los Angeles-based digital publication L.A. Currents.
“Barr most recently served as media reporter at Advertising Age, where he wrote about the business of media, with a focus on advertising trends as traditional and digital media companies embraced new business models and revenue streams. He also previously served as associate editor at Politico Media, where he reported on a wide range of legacy and digital media companies. His beat will focus on the intersection of television (and other media) and politics, including the Trump Administration.
“‘Peter and Jeremy are both experts in fields that are more important than ever to our readers,’ said Matthew Belloni, editorial director of THR. ‘Their expertise and storytelling skills will be a valuable addition as we continue our commitment to covering all things Hollywood.'”
