Fort Lauderdale biz news reporter Satchell is laid off

Arlene Satchell, a business reporter at The (Fort Lauderdale) Sun-Sentinel for the past 10 years, was laid off on Thursday.

Satchell covered the airline, cruise line, tourism and hotel industries.

On LinkedIn, Satchell wrote:

I was laid off along with some other colleagues as part of “major reorganization,” I was told. So needless to say I’m now job hunting, so keep me in mind.

Satchell is a University of Miami graduate who switched careers. She previously worked in the hospitality industry.

She previously covered the retail and marine industry beats and was a travel blog contributor.
