June Johnson, a business reporter at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, died earlier this month from a heart attack. She was 67.
Maira Garcia writes, “Born Mary June Harms on Oct. 7, 1940, in Duncan, Okla., Mrs. Johnson graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1962 with a degree in journalism. She worked in Washington, D.C., as a correspondent for the Daily Oklahoman and the San Francisco Chronicle. Later, she worked for the Tulsa Tribune and the Mid-Cities News.
“In 1976, she and her first husband, J.L. White, moved to Arlington. He died in 1991.
“Mrs. Johnson, then known as June White, was a business reporter at the Star-Telegram from 1991 until she retired in 1998.”
