Eight business journalists, including three incumbents, are seeking six spots on the Society of American Business Editors and Writers board.
The three incumbents are James Madore of Newsday, Xana Antunes of Quartz and Sapna Maheshwari of BuzzFeed.
The five others are Amy Gleason of S&P Global Market Intelligence, Caleb Silver of Investopedia, Roseanne Gerin of Radio Free Asia, Neil Roland of MLex News and Patrick Sanders of U.S. News & World Report.
The current board is recommending members vote for the three incumbents, Gleason and Silver. It has not made such a recommendation in at least the past 15 years.
The three board members not seeking re-election are Gary Silverman of the Financial Times, New York Times contributing writer Diana Henriques, and independent journalist Chris Peacock, formerly with CNNMoney.com
Voting will end at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Results of the election will be announced at the Best in Business dinner and ceremony at SABEW’s annual conference in Washington. Under the SABEW bylaws, all individual members can vote, as well as a single representative from each institutional member.
