Biz editor named for new

Melanie Wold has been named business editor for Shattered, the first global business magazine for and about women that made its debut June 8, according to this story in a Massachusetts newspaper.

As recently as January, Wold had been doing PR for Reuters, according to this release. She had been European editor of Trading Technology Week as well.

Wold is a freelance journalist specializing in U.S. and pan-European investigative news stories, covering a wide range of financial markets and technical subjects including oil and gas markets, electronic trading systems, data display applications, straight-through processing, IT networks and infrastructure, voice systems, e-commerce, IT and market data issues, company earnings and stock exchanges.

Shattered is published by Shattered Magazine LLC, a privately held New York City-based publishing firm with offices in New York City and London. Through a network that includes banks and investment banks, professional women’s associations, and Ivy League universities and business schools in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa and elsewhere, the magazine debuted with a readership of 75,000. Following the June launch,Shattered will publish 10 times per year from September 2006.

The magazine’s slogan is “Breaking the glass ceiling.”
