Reuters announced Thursday the hiring of distinguished journalist, author and lecturer Gregg Easterbrook as a columnist for Reuters.com.
Easterbrook, whose weekly column debuted on Reuters.com today, will write on topics ranging from economics and politics to science and technology.
Easterbrook is the author of the bestselling 2010 book “Sonic Boom,” as well as five other books of nonfiction and two novels. He is a contributing editor to The Atlantic, The New Republic and The Washington Monthly, a former visiting fellow in economics and in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, and a distinguished fellow of the Fulbright Foundation.
“‘I have been reading Gregg’s work for several years and he is one of my favorite columnists. His regular sports column, ‘Tuesday Morning Quarterback’ is analytical, funny and intelligent and has become a must read for American football fans,’ said Devin Wenig, CEO, Thomson Reuters, Markets, in a statement. ‘His sharp writing style and world view will complement our growing stable of world class columnists.’
Easterbrook joins an acclaimed roster of Reuters.com columnists including finance blogger Felix Salmon, and Reuters global editor-at-large Chrystia Freeland, whose weekly column on critical issues taking place at the intersection of business and politics will debut later this year.
