TALKING BIZ NEWS EXCLUSIVE

Joe Bel Bruno, the news editor of the U.S. stocks team for Dow Jones Newswires, sent out the following announcement on Friday morning:

I am delighted to announce a new lineup for the U.S. stock markets team, which will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

  • Steve Russolillo rejoins the team as a markets reporter, focusing on stocks and equities trading. He was part of the Market Talk team as blogs editor, and a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal’s Markets and News Hub web shows. Steve, who was most recently a general assignment reporter covering technology, joined Dow Jones in 2007 as a reporting assistant and later served as a copy editor.
  • Brendan Conway has been promoted to markets reporter, focusing on stocks and equities trading. He most recently covered the options beat and has also been our equities research reporter. He joined Dow Jones as an intern in 2009 after spending four years as an editorial writer at the Washington Times and had an internship with the Christian Science Monitor.
  • Chris Dieterich has been promoted to markets reporter, focusing on options and derivatives trading. Chris joined Dow Jones on the equities analysis beat in 2010 after serving internships at Dow Jones and American Banker’s D.C. bureau. He is a Colorado native, and attended journalism school at the University of Missouri.
  • Ian Thomson will join Dow Jones as a reporter, focusing on equities analysis. He’s been an intern since February after graduating from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and an internship with Bloomberg. Prior to that, Ian spent over a decade working as an accountant in the oil and gas industry in the U.K. and Houston. He’s a native of Aberdeen, Scotland.

They will be part of the markets team that includes IPO reporter Lynn Cowan and stocks columnist Tomi Kilgore. We wish Steve, Brendan, Chris and Ian much success in their new roles.
