Phillip de Wet, deputy editor at Business Insider SA, will be taking over as acting editor as former editor Helena Wasserman departs for Fin24.
Previously, de Wet was with Mail & Guardian for more than 5 years. There, he has served as acting deputy editor, news editor and associate editor. He also worked freelance for some time and was founding deputy editor of Daily Maverick.
He was also a contributing editor at Stuff Magazine and Mail & Guardian. He was also founding joint editor at Empire magazine and has also worked for The Media, Tectonic, ThisDay, Brainstorm magazine, and ITWeb.
de Wet holds a B.A. in journalism and media studies from the University of Witwatersrand.
