Commercial real estate reporter Hoyle leaving Triangle Biz Journal

Amanda Hoyle

Amanda Hoyle, who has covered commercial real estate for the Triangle Business Journal for nearly 16 years, is leaving the publication.

Her last day is Sept. 6.

Hoyle has accepted a position at Metrostudy’s Raleigh division.

Metrostudy provides data and analysis for the new home building industry, and in her new role as regional director for the Triangle and Triad regions, Hoyle will be the point person for any of Metrostudy’s membership or media who have questions about its quarterly data.

She will also watch for any changes or trends in land purchases, lot sales and housing starts that might impact business decisions for the local new home building market.

Hoyle is a University of Mississippi graduate.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
