CNBC has appointed Ted Kemp as senior news editor for CNBC.com in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, based at the network’s regional headquarters in London.
Kemp starts immediately and will manage all editorial operations for CNBC.com in the region. He joins from CNBC’s global headquarters in the United States where he’s been part of the CNBC.com editorial team for the last five years, most recently as news editor.
Kemp started his career in business journalism at Dow Jones Newswires and also worked as a writer and editor for other business, technology, sports and lifestyle publications including InformationWeek and GQ.
“Following Ted’s experience and success in the U.S. he was the clear choice to further enhance and grow the European edition of the site, said Patrick Allen, CNBC’s head of news in EMEA, in a statement. “He has a brilliant track record for delivering essential and compelling content which will help drive growth of the site in this region. I am delighted that he is joining our team.”
In the U.S., Kemp played a central role in developing the site at launch and now aims to make the European edition of CNBC.com the destination of choice for business and finance news in Europe and beyond.
The European edition of CNBC.com was launched in May 2011.
